My sister took her Fiesta for a service the other week, whilst there the guy that I did the deal on her behalf with asked if I was still thinking of downsizing, I said yes so he brought around their ST3 Fiesta...It was the most boring test drive I'd ever done!!! Not because of the car, but the route! Out of the showroom and left, 100 yard to the motorway, up the motorway in a dead straight line, off at a junction
(ohh I thought we're going down the lanes) NO...around the roundabout and back on motorway!!!
I said "Can't we come off and do some A roads?", came off at the next junction and went through town back to the dealership
As for the car, it was a lot nicer than I was expecting it to be, not as hard on the suspension as I'd have thought and also a lot quieter, it went over bumps and potholes OK, not like the spine cracking thud I had expected. The exhaust in sport mode does sound good
I found the steering to be heavy and I'd imagine on a long motorway run it would get tiring, but for day to day short trips it would be fine. The colour was nice as well and for me the bumpers were a nice match to the car paint...it was the performance blue. I couldn't live with a mismatch bumper/car colour
@KenL if you haven't already asked, ask them about the main Ford warranty, you can extend it to a full 5 years for
£240 which is a bargain...he didn't mention that I had to! The dealership Ford warranty is year 3rd-4th year £229 and then year 4th-5th year £379 =
£608....2.5 times the main Ford price!
They also offered a service pack @ £19.99 per month, it works out at 36 x £19.99 = £719.64.
The prices quoted for each service if paying as you go was 1st £160, 2nd £220 + £40 brake fluid and the 3rd service £340 = £760 in total. So if you intend to keep it beyond the 3rd service, the £19.99 per month plan works out better.
It also has a few other benefits:
