I have tried adjusting the stop screw from fully in to fully out and everywhere in between and it made no difference at all!
I think it's just bolloxed!
Hi Karl, I have already checked the actuator with vcds. I could see it moving its full travel when it was cycled. The boost however would only change 10mbar between off and full duty cycle!
Am I right in thinking if it was leaking boost then the reading would never get to the full 2500mbar...
Here is my log from a quick run. Im not sure how best to upload it here, below is a copy and paste from notepad, not sure if you can make it out. Basically it shows about a 5 second delay from the call for full boost untill it finally gets there...
slizza786 - Can you tell me how to get that?
keram - I highly doubt its anything to do with that as I only changed the turbo core, so the actuator and vanes/manifold etc is the original and so it was never adjusted. The stop screw was set exactly as the old one was
I just need to know...
Hi I have a 2006 A3 8P 2.0tdi BKD engine which I have just replaced the turbo with a recon unit as the old one snapped the main shaft in 2!
Now I'm getting no power at low revs, only getting power above around 3000rpm. It's going into limp mode and throwing the light on, getting mostly:
16683...
Does nobody know how to a adjust the idle speed?
Also I'm not convinced it's the cams/sprockets that are causing this the they are a mechanical constant and it only rough idles randomly, sometimes it idles smooth. Any other ideas??
I'm getting the cam belt changed soon as I don't know it's history so that should be taken care of at the same time. I'll bung some diesel injector cleaner through and see if it makes any difference
Hi thanks for the help. I have done a couple I screenshots, one showing engine idle on a graph, the rest looking for any possible culprits
Tosrsion value is around 1.0, I know 0.5 is ideal but am I right in thinking this is acceptable?
Injector values and egr, anyone see anything obvious?
Hi I have not long bought an a3 and have noticed sometimes the idle is rather erratic, you can feel the car rocking and it's very annoying when sitting at traffic lights! I have looked at the idle speed on vcds and can see it ranging from around 790 - 840rpm. Where do I go from here/ what to...
