Yep, mine can be glitchy too. First thing is, with mine at least, is do not put the roof up or down without the car running, as sometimes the voltage from the battery is just not enough to run the roof motors and throws a fault, especially if on a slight incline. You have to do the manual reset...

Sounds like fun! LA itself is not really worth visiting IMO. The traffic is hell-on-earth, and it's not as clean and sparkly as the movies make it out to be! Santa Monica is great though! Universal Studios is amazing, as is Six Flags Magic Mountain. If you do stay in LA try staying on the Queen...
