its getting worse by the day :( could I get a second hand speedo unit, would my ecu be ok with another models speedo or are they coded to a specific ecu? would my mileage have been recorded on my ecu?
got a strange problem with the display on my A3.
it started a couple of weeks ago, after the washer reservoir low water level warning light came on.
after I refilled the bottle and set off to drive later in the day I noticed what appeared to be two illuminated pixels in the screen display.

got some ferodo discs and pads, was told they are of O/E quality :shrug:
the front pads are so heavily chamfered that there must be around 20% of the disc pad surface not in contact with the disc :no:
fitted and tried them...... wish I'd not bothered, will get some bosch pads (which were fitted...
thanks, but there a small fortune, the original discs will be made by a recognised supplier like bosch or can you buy service parts like you can with Vauxhall
just had the car mot'd, and was told the discs and pads on both the front and rears are about on the limit.
does anyone have any genuine thoughts on good disc / pad combination, I want these personally recommended as in tried and tested, not from just from hearsay.

last year I took my car to my local Audi dealer to have them look at the rear wiper motor (leaking) while it was there they gave it (me) a free inspection, one of the points it raised was that the pads and discs were in need of replacing highlighted on the form as red (danger?) a mechanic mate...
its your brakes mate ! not a cylinder head bolt, if it fails it could be fatal, perhaps not to you but passenger / other motorist, is it worth it ???? no.
get another hub/ back plate, even if its from a breakers yard
could it be a fluid movement from the stock master cylinder ? them are very big calipers and will need a serious amout of fluid against the pistons to work correctly.
i took my car there (in york) last year, halfway through the 20k long life oil service, cant go wrong at that price, i used the 10% discount voucher and put the discount saved into the companys x-mas fund collection which went down well. :arco:
