2007 a3 1.9 tdi digital dash problem

got a strange problem with the display on my A3.
it started a couple of weeks ago, after the washer reservoir low water level warning light came on.
after I refilled the bottle and set off to drive later in the day I noticed what appeared to be two illuminated pixels in the screen display.
each day now there seems to be another added to it.
anyone experienced it before and know how to fix it ?

Looks like dodgy pixels in the display. I guess a new cluster required

It's the LCD gone faulty. There are plenty of places that will fix it for around £90-£100 but you will be without the car whilst it's being done.
There is liable to be a you tube video telling you how to dismantle the cluster and replace the LCD yourself. Probably a better and cheaper option.

Surely for all thats wrong with it you could live with it for now? Or just wait until the DIS really fails and becomes unreadable??

its getting worse by the day could I get a second hand speedo unit, would my ecu be ok with another models speedo or are they coded to a specific ecu? would my mileage have been recorded on my ecu?
