    What's more reliable?

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm not too concerned with tax and fuel costs, I just want a quick reliable car. My worrys are getting stranded and suddenly having a massive engine repair bill. I suppose it's a bit of a gamble with either car, with the 2.0 t having the oil starvation issues...

    What's more reliable?

My only worry with the 3.2 is the camchain I guess. Snapping, stretching, that kind of thing... Is that a problem on all years?

    What's more reliable?

Hi, looking to buy an A3 at the moment - just wondering what people think is least likely to land me with a massive engine related bill - 3.2 or 2.0T? Both 07 with about 70k All opinions gratefully received!

    2.0tfsi engine failures

Dunno, but it won't be cheap! On the plus side, there are several of these cars still running on Ebay with over 140k. Someone is even asking £6000 for an '06 with more than 160k! There are two listed as spares or repairs though, one with the oil light on, the other with a broken chain.

    2.0tfsi engine failures

Thanks guys, that must be a great car Rob, bet it's a lovely drive with only 29k on it. My B6 is virtually faultless and that's done 112k! Did have to replace the breather hose though. I ride a Street Triple R at the moment. Only the 5.2 R8 comes close in terms of acceleration, although it's...

    2.0tfsi engine failures

Hi B7 people, I currently have a b6 2.0 petrol. Nothing fancy, but it's been a great reliable car, lovely to drive of course but I want something a bit more exciting as I don't get out on the motorbike so much these days since my son was born. So I've been looking at a 2005 b7 2.0tfsi s line...

    A4 avant electrical problem

Check the wires first - it's free! Symptoms for severed/disconnected wires are same as for faulty switch

    A4 avant electrical problem

Successfully repaired the wire to my boot latch microswitch today, giving me illumination again, but I should say mine's a saloon so may not apply to the avant.

    A4 avant electrical problem

Re the boot light - the wires for this break at the lhs boot hinge where they run through a rubber flexi doo dar from the body to the boot lid. I intend to fix mine today.

    What's this then?

Just remembered I took this photo the other day while changing my clutch switch. Does anyone have any idea what those spade connectors might be and what they should be connected to?

    Drive By WTF?

Dan is on the money. I certainly will get the codes read when it's in for servicing. In the meantime I would be interested in hearing if anyone has had any improvement in throttle response from an ecu reset. Also can I use sport springs with se shocks?

    Drive By WTF?

Thanks, I have tried that, but have not noticed any improvement. Should I disconnect the battery instead? Would that clear the ecu?
