Just washed and dried the Avant, and it appears a big bird poo did not wash off, and it won't even pick off with fingernails. Looks kinda like an eggy mess of some sort (deffo a poo though lol). Any ideas on what to remove it with?

You could try a spot of Autoglym paint renovator on a cloth and gently rub the cloudiness away, that's what I used on my B6

Don't be afraid to clay bar. Try the Autoglym clay bar pack and watch a few videos on youtube before yougive it a go yourself

In theory, every enthusiast could just turn to natural non-toxic products (which to be fair is probably what should happen). Then the garages would not have a leg to stand on. Sounds like they're trying to screw a few more quid out of the average Joe motorist

No problem. If you use two ordinary polishing cloths, rub the polish gently onto the rails and trim until you see the water stains disappear. Let it haze then buff off with the second cloth. Should be nice and shiny after that. Prob should use some sort of wax/sealant after but I'm no expert...

Hi all, an update. In the end I made gentle use of Autoglym Paint Restorer on the chrome trim and roof rails. Brought everything up a treat

Looks pretty crisp! White with black looks ace :yes:

Just go out now and use the towel to soak the rain clouds from the sky :salute:
