Done a 12.6 @113mph in mine a few weeks ago (APR 2+, 345hp) but that's with DSG so is pretty much cheating! That's without the DSG map so could probably gain a bit there. Was a few S3's there that day, fastest I seen was around a 12.1!
Yup mine was properly lubed with engine oil and didn't use it long enough for it to dry up. They are definetly hit or miss but if you have issues you can always sell it on, they only take 5 minutes to remove (on the S3 anyway). But from my experience if your stage 2+ or above I'd go for the...
In my case it caused a sudden loss of power when quickly coming off the throttle and back on again under heavy load and WOT. This sounded like it was due to the turbo stalling which I can only put down to being the DV+ for some reason under those conditions not venting the boost pressure fast...
I had problems with mine on my shark stage 3 S3 (now APR 2+). I'm not sure exactly what it was but it felt and sounded like compressor surge/stall when chopping the throttle on and off and back on again under heavy load, it was horrible so removed it straight away to prevent any damage.
Lots...
Silly me, Google brought up the wrong set of instructions. Should have been these: Audi A3 (8P) Headlight Aim Control (Xenon Plus) - Ross-Tech Wiki
The ON/OFF/NEXT needed to be pressed, feel free to delete this thread since I answered my own question :P
Purchased a VCDS cable from NHN and have been having a play with it this evening.
On my to do list is to adjust the xenon position as they are pointing too low, but I can't seem to get this to work with VCDS.
Following the instructions on the Ross-Tech site (Ross-Tech: VAG-COM: Xenon Headlamp...
FYI, the more people you have on the policy the better. In the past I've always added my mum and dad to my policy as named drivers and its made a significant difference (I'm 21 now). I think the insurance company sees it as more named drivers = less time the policy holder will be driving.
In my...
It probably won't be as visible as in that picture, the piece you can see there had split off and was sticking out. Don't ask me why it looks a different colour in the picture below, rubbish phone camera. Under a year old too, so I'll be ordering a spare one If I can find somewhere that stocks them!
Jesus I managed to give it about an 1/8 of a turn with my fingers! Probably should have checked if it was tight before I posted, sorry. Just got a bit panicked when I seen all the fuel!
Just backed off the connection and the green o ring in the picture is in pieces, will need to try and find a...
I kept well clear whilst installing the PCV plate, I noticed fuel around that area a few weeks ago but there wasn't much and I couldn't be sure where it had came from so I cleaned it off to see if it returned. Just coincidence that I happened to open the door and look back under the bonnet today...
Well after having trouble fitting my PCV revamp kit (see other thread) I got it all finished and was about to start the car to test it when I noticed a strong smell of fuel. Looked back under the bonnet and seen fuel leaking from a connection on the HPFP! It's not a small amount either, it's was...
Well that did the trick! Popped on after I gave it a twist.
I would take it for a test drive but I've just now noticed that there's fuel dripping out of the HPFP! The end of one thread and the start of a new one!
Thanks for those, I'm about to go and try putting the o ring in boiling water and apply some Vaseline to see if I can get it to 'pop' on.
The hesitation issue sounds odd, I'm hoping it will be an improvement over the standard PCV as mine was leaking from one of the hose clips and spraying oil...
Not exactly sure what you mean? It's definitely not on correctly as the holes for the allen keys won't go past the knotch that was for the hose clip. Seems to me like the o ring is too thick so it can't compress enough to slide over the top of the hose connection.
Somethings not right if they...
A bit embarrassing having to post about a job that should be dead simple, has anyone that's fitted one had issues getting the blanking cap fitted over the hose connection?
I can't for the life of me get the o ring inside the cap to slot over the hose connection, it's just far too tight and I...
I had a set of CH reps on my old A3. They looked great and still looked brand new when I took them off to sell over a year later.
They were lighter than the standard wheels, although probably lacking in terms of strength compared to the real thing. For example one of mine got damaged in the...
Thanks for the info, Good to know it can be changed and the options there, whether it is enough of an annoyance to fork out to get the gearbox remapped I'm not sure yet! Will wait and see ;)
