I'm not saying put 235's on, i'm saying 235's are correct for 8.5j rim.
What i was originally referring to is IMHO that the CH-R's are wrong fitment for the A3/S3. Hell i love these rims and if they did them in same fitment as my CH blacks then they'd be on my car pronto.
So as per OP, if it...
Yes but on a 8.5" rim a 225 is equivalent to running a 215 on a 8" rim. So the pics are relevant.
Take a chill pill:icon_thumright:
Happily married for years so no 'book' anymore i'm afraid.
Running low with stretch is 'scene' in my book.
The OP is running a S3, so i'm assuming HE does drive it accordingly. So i'm offering advice based on this fact...........simples!!
To the OP, 225 on 8.5" rim will look like Rico's pic of 215 on 8" rim, slightly worse really. So has been...
While it may not be 'scene' stretch, there is definately stretch. Have you ever seen a car manufacturer run a 215 on 8 " rim?, no! I don't understand the point of having a tyre with rim protection and the wheel protruding past this...............kind er tells you it's not meant to be.
CK's can rub slightly when lowered on H&R's so how do Rimstyle think that CH-R's wont when although 2mm better offset are 1/2" wider meaning 4mm further out than CK's. They will rub the fender screw even with 225's.
Do you want scene or a properly fitting tyre with some rim protection?
Don't forget the CH-R's are 8.5" rim width as opposed to 8" rim on CK's and so a 235 section tyre is best. This together with ET46/48 offset will mean slight rubbing.
The CK's are ET44 and just miss rubbing unless lowered heavily.
Just in case you wasn't aware and it affected your decision.
:sadlike:sh*t a brick, what tragic news.
Never met the guy, but followed a lot of his posts and he came across as a really decent fellow.
Thoughts with his family at this time.
Yeah, noticed that's been the case for a few weeks and only realised yesterday that the version 2 is out shortly, hence why they are probably phasing out stock country wide.
I'm running ( and have done since new ) 34psi Fr & 38psi Rr.
I'm running Goodyear Assy's on mine in 225-35-19 flavour and over the last 15k they have been superb. Still a 3k left in them but changing in next few week to...............Michelin PSS.
BTW: The Goodyears are £145 + fitting each at Camskills, so not that expensive either.
Really, someone likes / trusts them!!!!........muppets. There's a particular patronising service guy that knows less than the receptionist that has come close to a good slap a few times.
Clark Motorsport in Kintore is highly recommended and getting my business later this week.
You guys need to realise the sarcasm in my post................
Why the **** would anyone pay £210 for Aberdeen Audi to adjust the alignment when i can pay trusted professional outfit £69 + adjustments ?.
I have nightmares IF i have to put car in to Audi for warranty work.
Ahh, mines slightly different then. Mines under WOT after holding constant throtlle / speed. This is especially apparent if going up hill, the steeper the hill the worse the problem seems to be, although it does it on flat and downhill too.
bl**dy hell, that's like for like with what i've had. 3rd and 4th, 5th gear around 4k and it stutters / misfires / pulls the timing. Sometimes it's not bad others it jolts me forward out of seat. No lights / fault codes. RAC have looked twice, Audi dealer has had it in and logged each cylinder...
Have you seen the pics in Autocar:puke: If they're on the money then this will be my last A3, truly horrid front end..................like the A1 but worse.........if that's possible.
Help!
Didn't use car for past few days as had a hire car over weekend to transport family. However this morning the misfire was far worse on driving to work. Called AUDI and they can't get it in this week so advised to call AUDI assist who would sort it at work. Now here's my question, i'm at...
Thanks Karl that's what i thought it was most likely. Is this likely accelerated by the map or are the coilpacks still a weak part, as i new they were on the 1.8T motor.
Not tried it with map switched off yet to check if it will repeat the problem for Audi tech.
