I see your reasoning mate all taken onboard, thankyou!
I remember being advised against polybushes throughout the underside of my S3 8L, specifically the wishbones. I went against public opinion but was very happy with the result so for me I need to be sure I'm not just of a different idea of...
Perfect bud thankyou!
What's your reasoning for advising against the billet bushes? It's a road car and will stay so, but I favour handling and am not afraid of a little vibration (or is it severe?)
A rear would definitely be in the plans but that opens a whole new area of 'refurbishment' -...
Yeah that was my thinking too.. handy to know it's the bushes that are different.
I can possibly get hold of a used RS4 front subframe, my plan is to strip it down and seam weld, paint and re-bush it to then install on my S4 as a strengthened replacement. It saves me time in having the car off...
Hi guys,
Could anyone tell me whether or not the B5 S4 and the B5 RS4 front manual transmission subframes are identical?
The part numbers match apart from the very last letter so not sure if that would matter.
Thanks in advance!
I've had a read of that thread jojo, very helpful but like I say mine is noticeably more reverse raked.
I don't fancy buying new/different springs as the H&Rs are very impressive and expensive, especially when I can see some H&R setups sit lovely.
The spring seats seem the best option to make...
Hi guys, fitted my Bilstein B8's, with H&R lowering springs along with powerflex polybush topmounts (the ones that claim to be 10mm lower). And even after over a month of use the reverse rake seems to be a tad excessive.
I've seen a few things to say that it's a natural occurrence after fitting...
That's fine I was just interested to see if in the few years since these were slated, whether or not custom mapping had found a way to make these a beneficial mod with the initial boost etc.
If they still remain sketchy I'll play it safe.
*ECS race valve anyone?* ;)
So in essence, there's no reason why I shouldn't fit it, provided the map is a sensible one. Are there other options (such as the J valve) that would be better suited to my car with standard internals? Or is it really not worth the bother to change for the sake of figures?
If the ECS valve is potentially 'better' than the standard one currently on the car, and I already have it without having to spend money... Would it not make sense to fit it? Provided of course it makes improvements not hindrances.
Old thread reboot ;)
I've seen the comments about spikey boost and limp mode etc using an ecs 'race' valve.
However, I have one at home I bought for my old AGU golf Gti.. (worked fine). I took it off when I got rid of the car knowing how pricey they are.
My question is.. Now a few years down the...
I'd definitely be bearing that in mind, had a carbonio setup on my old AGU mk4 gti and had a couple of scary moments on dark roads and deep puddles (much coughing and spluttering from the old girl but she was a trooper and powered on)
Wouldn't want to run the same risk on a higher powered car so...
So when I get the TIP I'll also order some ducting for a custom cold air feed..
Would you say, tuffty, that 4" would be a bit overkill on a car I'm only looking for around 300bhp on? Or would 80mm diameter (to match the pipework) stuff be plenty adequate?
I want a good balance between maximum...
Badger5 it is.
Had a mate fit one to his last week, he said the difference was night and day!
Just thought I'd consider my options before diving in (already knowing the Badger5 reputation)
Cheers for all your help!
Jamie
I had noticed yours had changed 'a little' tuffty Haha. But cheers, if I can find a VERY tidy looking way of doing it, I'll give it a go at some point!
Stuart, I hadn't counted the stems from the APR one but you might be right, I guess it caters for all the compatible 1.8t variants?
If it were...
Cheers bud I see what you're saying diameter/shape wise!
Was just curious really, not much to read about them on our cars anywhere so wondered if it was a hidden gem or just overpriced rubber..
Think I'll be sticking to the Badger5 ;) seems the foolproof bet.
It'll be going onto my standard...
Yeah, found in the "engine tuning" section for our cars on awesomegti
http://www.awesomegti.com/car/audi/s38l/compressor-inlet-hose-tt225-s3-cupra-r-ms10003-ms10003b-ms10003r
Looks a decent bit of kit but nearly 100 quid more!
Hi guys sorry to bump an old thread!
Badger5 looks the place to go from what I read.. But I can't find anything really about the APR version available on awesomegti and elsewhere.
Anybody ever used one or know what they're using, other than their name, to justify the price tag?
Cheers for any...
