No electrical functions at all. I'm stripping car for parts so can't do a scan (it'll cost me). I"m just surprised that potentially removing the cable has rendered the door useless.
Only other way is to forcefully rip off door card to try and manually tinker with the licking mechanism.
I have a door which does not unlock either from outside or inside. The door connector might have been disconnected (as we were planned on removing the door from the car), but I'm uncertain whether this was connected back up to the door. The door is completely unresponsive.
Does anyone know...
The mechanic tested the starter motor and has ruled out any electrical wiring issues. He dropped the gearbox and assessed the clutch and pressure plate and confirms no unusual signs of damage on any. However, he showed me a video of the flywheel which after a few degrees of turns manually...
I don't think the battery health is the issue has it was reading fine and I also hooked it up to an optimiser for about 48 hours.
I will ask the mechanic to try this, so the goal is to see if the starter turns the flywheel and the starter motor is doing its job correctly? Let's say that the...
So, this is a bit of a mystery. The other weekend I took apart the throttle body and EGR on my B7 170 TDI trying to clean it out to get rid of the common orange coil light problem (the car was in limp mode due to this). Did the job and put everything back together.
The battery was already low...
So I cleaned out the EGR and the error was still present when I turn the key into ignition mode. I could actually take it for a spin because my starter motor failed randomly after the clean.
I'm getting that replaced by my local garage as it's hard to get to, so thought I'd leave that to them...
It looks like my problem is a common one. I have a 2.0L 170 B7. For a while now when ever I used to put my foot down on a hill, especially on the motorway, it lost all power and went into limp mode with the orange coil light coming on. I've learnt to restart the engine to erase the error and...
I'm going to get AA out to give me a diagnostic. If it is, what does the repair look like, what needs to be done?
I've never driven the car in at a normal speed when this has happened. But I have driven the car high revs at around 60mph to clear the DPF and there's been no cut out.
This is happened a few times which I thought might have been down to using bad supermarket fuel, but now I'm not so sure.
If I'm doing about 65-70mph on the motorway and need to overtake the car feels like it 'coughs', like a jerk, and then the orange coil light starts flashing. Cruise control...
Hi all
I have a 2007 B7 with heated leathers. This has been working just fine since I've owned the car over 3 years or so, but in the past few months something strange has happened.
I noticed that I needed to put the seats on a higher number to feel any heat coming off the driver's side seat...
Didn't know I had to code it into the system. Could that be the problem? I just thought it would be plug and play.
If the CD interface is the one on the top corner with the clamp that secures the plug in place, then yes, that's where my module plugs into. However, I already have a CD changers...
Hi all
I have been doing some research on how to stream audio via my smart phone either by bluetooth or aux, and after purchasing the additional equipment required, I can't seem to get it to work.
I have successfully paired my phone with the RNS-E bluetooth which makes and receives calls. My...
Hi all
New member here.
I have the complete sat-nav unit in my B7 currently, but sadly the reception for the radio is poor with lots of static, especially if something is plugged into the cigarette lighter. Is is possible to replace the aerial with an after-market one, and if so, where is it...
