There is nothing atall for the 1.8 engine on ebay, seen a few for the 1.4 but says doesnt fit when i put in my cars details, nothing on that parts in motion either, audi quoted me £607 just for the part which i think is too expensive, do you know who makes the exhaust for the audi a3 8v 1.8 ?

I would prefer to buy new if possible as most used look quite rusty, not seen any used ones for a 1.8 either though, not sure if a 1.4 twin exhaust would be exact same part as my 1.8 exhaust, they don’t even have any new ones on autodoc or gsf either so might need to just go direct to audi for...

Think it’s the same engine but just tuned to be slower and more boring to drive than the polo, i’ve had the 1.8 for 4 years now but i’ve drove the polo gti 1.8 and it feels much faster than my a3, the polo pulls away better in 4th at 30mph than mines does in 3rd at 30pmh which was rather...

Went with the phillips xtreme vision gen 2 and they are much better than the old phillips ones they replaced, you can easily see the difference compared to my last photo i uploaded it doesn’t even look like the lights where even putting much light on the road compared to the new bulbs

Your probs right there lol, do you know who makes the original ballast you took out and what kind was the one you replaced it with ?

ok thanks i’ll have a look for a ballast just incase i need that aswell, no doubt one from audi will be over £200 or something, seen a few used ones on ebay about £40 but don’t if thats a bit risky buying used

I won’t be changing the fog lights.. i use them on unlit empty roads because my headlights are that bad i can hardly see much distance infront that’s why i thought i’d try get ‘supposedly’ better lights than the originals

Can anyone tell if the ballast or bulb is causing the problem in this video ? And how much is a replacement ballist ? Will it need to be the same as the passenger side working one so the light output is the same ? Only letting me put an icloud link up for the video ...

The original bulbs i have in the now are terrible it night can hardly see a thing although they are 9 year old to be fair i think the oe phillips xenon is 4100 and the phillips xtreme is 4800, probs not really much difference in them, does your osrams look ok with the led drl beside it ?

i was considering the osram nightbreakers but supposedly in reviews i’ve seen the phillips extreme vision gen2 is meant to be a little bit whiter looking light than the osrams so going to go with the phillips i think but i’m just hoping it’s not the ballast that is causing my headight problem...

Seen these phillips white vision gen 2 on sale seem like a good price compared to the phillips xtreme gen 2 version at £71.50 on the same website, would there be much difference between these 2 to justify the extra price ?
