Try a couple of simple checks first. See is the lift pump in the tank pumping diesel by slackening the small bleed screw on top of the diesel filter and just hit the starter for a second. You should get a spurt of diesel from the bleed screw (use plenty of rags to catch the fuel). If not the...
0550 is start of injection regulation fault generally caused by failure of the vp44 injection pump. It's a common fault on the v6 2.5 TDI engine usually due to failure of the ECU on top of the pump. The pump sits in the v of the engine and with heating and cooling over time the soldered joints...
They do. There is a 3 way match needed between the engine ECU, dash cluster and pump ECU. You will need someone to read the pin code from the car and code the replacement pump. I have a notion that you might need the pin from the donor car as well but can't remember for sure . Reconditioned...
It's the ECU on top of the pump the usually goes on these. The crimp connectors are probably from an earlier repair when the ECU was removed with the pump in situ and sent off to be fixed. It's never the answer as these pumps need to be set up on a test bench. I'm afraid the pump will need to...
Test the glow plugs with a multi meter before you change any and then only change any that are faulty. I think its .03 ohms resistance from memory but I am sure you will find the technical spec on here somewhere. These are very hard to change without breaking them. Make sure engine is hot...
You may go to the dealer and get them to look it up because that's what is listed. I checked 2 other parts listings and both show the same. If you look again both the petrol and diesel engines are shown on the diagram. The diesel is just below and the ake is definitely listed.
Lights out, bumper off, move front into service position. Then slacken and remove boost hoses and they just lift out. Put a bit of wd40 on the bottom mounting rubber to help the intercooler slip into place when fitting the new one.
The wires break in the rubber cover on the hinge side of the door. Pull the cover off and there's a clip there to undo that disconnects the loom from the door. A bit of delicate soldering will most likely be needed. Could also be the switch so check that too.
It looks like the oil pressure relief valve may be missing. The link above is for the block but the one below is for the head which I think shows what you need.

I had exactly the same symptoms as you. Only blew warm when giving it some stick and under normal conditions bottom hose warm and top hose cold. Heater matrix is likely stuffed with crap. Check by removing the top hose with the engine running. It is likely just dribbling through or not running...
Be very careful when removing glow plugs. They can snap in the head without warning. Make sure engine is hot and I recommend soaking them in plus gas for a couple of days before attempting to get them in out. If any break you have real problems. You can test them with a multimeter without...
Clean well around the injector seals and then get a small screwdriver to push a cloth right into the groove to clean it as well as possible. I use thinners on the cloth to remove as much of the oil as possible. Dry off well and get a fine nozzle to place gasket sealant into the groove and run...
01268 Quantity Adjuster (N146) Defect. But the this is all within the pump so a QA fault means a pump fault. Just bear in mind you have only tested the ECU on this pump and not the pump itself. I'm not a fan of fixing the ecu as a standalone thing. These pumps are precision built and the ecu...
