I have DS2500 on my focus ST, I have gone through 2 sets of Pagid front discs over the last 40k miles and pads are now only half worn! Also they are not R90 complaint, the Redstuff are R90 complaint however...
My manual S4 has a slight vibration at idle felt through the seats, perfectly normal on these. Made no difference when I had my flywheel and clutch replaced.
I have front and rear Red stuff pads and pagid discs sitting in my garage waiting for the weather to improve so I can fit them... worked out to about £340 including the rear fitting kit from ECP. Is anyone using a battery charger while replacing the rear pads?
Sorry to hear about this Jakes.
Mine had this happen in exactly the same place, with a thick black line passing from the back bumper through the wheel to ending near the front door!:mad new:.
Luckily I managed to remove the black mark with Autoglym tar remover, the denting was minimal and...
I have in enabled through my MMI only, however the different settings don't seem to make any difference? Also you will get a soft (no warning light on dash) fault code due to the switch not being present.
Mines a 1st September 2010 car, going to do some tests tomorrow to see if it's the master cylinder or clutch. However my gut is saying clutch, the plates are tiny on these only 240mm!
I currently have a quote from MRC for both the Stage 2+ package, new clutch and flywheel(lightweight), going to get it booked in for the new year and will report back afterwards.
Interestingly I never have to top the Focus up inbetween services while using the Fuch oil, while using Edge I topped up about 1 litre in total.. My S4 also was using about 1 litre of Edge per 3k miles, this has reduced with the Miller oil.
Hi All,
My S4 had its clutch master cylinder replaced due to needing the clutch pedal pushed down hard to start the engine, this sorted the issue but it has just returned! Any advise? Is it possible the clutch itself is worn?
Castrol Edge is ok there are better oils out there, but remember these engine run high oil temps (117C on the motorway!). I was starting to get cold start timing chain rattle on mine at 40K, I swapped to Millers 5w-40 Nanodrive CTS last service and the rattle has gone!
Interesting I normally...
The issue is years gone by tyres used to resemble a modern all session tyre, however now tyres have been developed for better fuel consumption and honed towards dry and wet warm weather.
After the winter of 2010 and sliding backwards with all four wheels locked, we now travel to the Alps for...
Mine used to use about 1 litre of castrol edge 5w-30 every 3k miles, I changed the oil to Millers Nanodrive CTS 5w-40 last service and glad to report no usage so far after 4k miles.
I have now covered about 1.5k miles since changing to 5w-40 millers nanodrive cts, no usage at all. Still have the cold start chain rattle though!:banghead:
