Could be the issue then, if you've had it scanned and that's what it's saying then I would go with that. Was going to also suggest N75 (think that's the boost control valve???) valve too but get the DV sorted first :)
I'm sure that's REALLLLYY noticeable in a Fiesta...
At the end of the day higher octane really is only for high performance or turbo charged engines to stop detonation.
If you run over 1 bar boost on 97 unleaded you need to ****** ignition by something like 8 degrees.
Could be an air leak somewhere... Do you get any loss of performance? Any faults light up on the dash?
Also have you had the car chipped/mapped... Could be running higher boost pressure (which would explain the hiss)
Interested in this now... Do you press a button to "fire it in" or does it trickle through all the time?
Gone in sixty seconds with the "go baby go" button springs to mind.... Want!
I'm not happy with it at all but until we get a radicalist that people will listen to then it won't change, I have even looked into running some of my cars on E85 (bioethanol) thinking it will be cheaper but it costs more per litre to start with and you don't get as high MPG so there is no...
Unless you are prepared to spend serious wonga (around £35 litre) don't bother with octane boost. As said they are b***ocks...
I could sell you some 118 octane race fuel if you want? I buy it around £2.25 a litre... So think yourself pretty fortunate to buy fuel at the price you pay anyway :)
When I had my 1.8T golf and it played up like that it was the throttle body needed a clean out, not saying this is your issue but it would be a good place to start. Doesnt sound like an overboost issue as that would do it whilst being thrashed. Check to see if you have any air leaks in the...
Yeah that's right, pop the bonnet and get someone to wiggle the gearstick look on gearbox side and you will see the selector moving. Thats where the forge unit goes
Glad we all agree then :) I know the mk4 golfs seem to have been prone to it more in the winter months. In my case it was more of an irritation than anything, when the engine got warmed up I would restart the engine and the error would have gone. As for water shrinking in the cold yes that is...
Could be the 2 prong sensors in the tank, I had this problem on a mk4 golf. Solved the problem by fitting a new coolant tank. £13 from the stealers. I did a coolant change when I swapped the tank too. Might be worth thinking about doing as the cost is very little I imagine will be similar priced...
lol Made a lot of Saxo chavs jealous saturday night, a local car park near where I live gets filled out with chavs.... I just happened to be driving past and thought I would pull in..... 5 donuts later then left it felt so good!...
Might be keeping the RS4 insured all over christmas now lol.
