get lighter wheels.
you are likely suffering performance issues because of two reasons:
* new rolling diameter has increased over your 16" wheel and tyre combination
* new wheels are heavier
a friend with an a3 went through this recently (in fact with 18" RSTT wheels also)... felt boggy...

Engine-wise from there I went:
* exhaust (take a look under the rear at the stock squashed pipe section). I went custom 2.5" without resonator. I've heard a couple of different resonated exhausts and they are extremely subtle and quite. Mine is much the same until WOT.
* FMIC

He wants to achieve 300hp at the wheels - sorry not possible with the standard K04... not even on race gas. NOS is...
forget the BOV - the standard revised replacement 710N Bosch bypass (recirculating) valve is the way to go. As for bang for the buck... chip, exhaust and fmic in that order.
...though thats not going to get u 300whp ...will need a big turbo upgrade for that.
