    Facelift S3 vs New/Old RS3s

I am by no means an Audi fan boy. Yes I've had many, but currently driving something slightly more dynamic and less quality focussed. My wife still has an Audi though, and I do like hers......and her Audi...... I prefer a well set up FWD car to any AWD car I've driven, and I've owned all set...

    Facelift S3 vs New/Old RS3s

I need to drive a Focus RS sometime. As bad as they look, I bet they go very well. To offset my comments on the looks of the Focus RS, I don't think the RS3 drives very well.

    Facelift S3 vs New/Old RS3s

Perhaps, but they all, therefore, look better than the Focus RS. As good as it is to drive, you'd have to look at it every day you wanted to drive it...... Shame as the previous version looked good.

    Facelift S3 vs New/Old RS3s

I'm not a fan of the looks of the RS3 Sportback, but it looks a hell of a lot better than a Focus RS.

    My s3 is dead

Are you going to let your brother drive it again when it's fixed?

Facelift Ordered a Hatch? Forget It!!

Simple, change order to Saloon. It's the best variant on the 8v!!!!

    Gutted.. Car Banned :'-(

I do agree the right car will leave an emotional attachment. I'd not class an A3 as something that could do that for me, but each to their own. I have only had one in 30 odd cars that I had the feeling I wish I hadn't sold. The thing is, I can get another one if I wanted to. Out of interest...

    Gutted.. Car Banned :'-(

I like your use of selective quotes, so I'm not going to bother to respond to you in full either. Just a couple of things, however. Do you have children? I wasn't ******* on his chips in saying that he shouldn't be very proud and excited of being able to have such a car at such a young age...

    Gutted.. Car Banned :'-(

Cars are not worth stressing over, ever. They are expensive bits of metal that have warranty / insurance, nothing a few £££ can't fix. You'll maybe mellow with age. I was mellow at your age, not a care in the world, only started stressing when our daughter arrived.

    Gutted.. Car Banned :'-(

So highly strung / intense for a youngster. Maybe I'm getting old now, but I was far more relaxed in my late teens. Life was for enjoying and learning, not getting stressed, especially not about a car. Save stress for when you have real life responsibilities.

    Gutted.. Car Banned :'-(

A whole lot of sensationalism in here. It's what a warranty is for.

    Facelift S3 vs New/Old RS3s

Short of the blistering pace and excellent noise I didn't feel there was enough between the two as far as handling was concerned. If straight line speed and a shouty exhaust are high up on your priorities then the RS3 would seem like an improved prospect. However, no way would 100% of S3 owners...

Facelift Golf R VII FL Slower than the old one?

The biggest thing the Golf R had as an advantage over the S3 was in the handling department. Doubt that will have changed in the facelifts.

Facelift Just about to order - S3 Saloon, Nano Grey

Nano, like Nardo, but 100 times more interesting. A good grey colour, although not as good as Suzuka.

Saying Goodbye......... Soon..... New car ordered!!!

Can understand the financial decision made.

    S3 for RS3

Another thing to note is it will be a better car than the pre-facelift, and we all know saloons look better than Sportback's.

Time to move on from the S3

Certainly a far better looking car than the FRS.

Facelift Buy cash or use a PCP?

Few things wrong with this. PCP will always gain more discount over cash buyer, PCP buyer can also sell privately, it's not exactly difficult to clear finance. Audi contribution on new S5 for those that take finance is £2500, available dealer discount is applied after that. It's how these guys...

Facelift One example why you should not fill your car with silly options!!!

The one option doing that car no favours is Floret. Doesn't suit the car one bit, and I had a Floret car before.

Facelift Buy cash or use a PCP?

No one on here can answer this question. So many variables: mortgage outstanding, savings in bank, pension pot (I have a feeling the OP might be of an age where that matters), other finance, credit cards, holiday plans, family, etc etc. Silly question really. I can give some advice, cancel the...
