Feedback from those with S3s now

picked my manual SB up 28 Oct; 2.5K miles later I'm still absolutely loving it! We took a drive over to visit a cousin in Germany a couple of weeks ago, and it simply gobbled the miles up and was really comfortable. Nudging 150 on the autobahn a couple of times was also 'an experience'. It...

    Snake Pliskin's Countdown

Awesome news mate! Been on this journey with you from the beginning of the S3 thread, so pleased you finally got it! In a way, I kept telling myself that the wait only made the collecting all the much better... not sure that was completely true, but it's all done now :) Glad you love the...

    S3 Running In

The dealer told me 500 to 1000 miles to run in, so I've been trying to stay under 4K revs for the past week. However, I've now just tipped over the 500 miles (went on Nottingham-Slough round-trip for work on Thursday, and have been driving it whenever I have a spare minute), so I guess I'll...

    Thule Roof Bars

hi Pilot, Yes, the little holes are definitely there in the roof rails. The manual doesn't state the distance centre to centre, but I'll pop out in a little bit and measure it up for you. David

    2013 Audi S3

I enquired not long after getting my second-hand A3 a few years back and it was something like £1000 I think. They have to take down the whole roof liner and screw through, so it's quite a big job.

    2013 Audi S3

For me, they're a must-have on the Sportback, especially if you've ordered a dark colour, as I think the aluminium breaks it up a bit. Also, if you like the mini-S4 Avant thing a few have mentioned, you need the rails... I had an A3 Sportback (black) without the rails for the past few years...

S3 - water and oil temp display?

Just read this in the manual: Kinda implies there's no way to read it on the S3...

S3 - water and oil temp display?

Yes, the oil temperature is well hidden in the DIS (took me a while to find it) - it's under the Lap Timer option for some odd reason. Not spotted the water temperature yet, I'll have a look....

what am I supposed to do for 8 hours?

Yea, and seeing as petrol's a little cheaper, even if they did do exactly the same MPG, it would be cheaper to run! Although, I suppose that's possibly a little unfair, as I do use Super Unleaded, which is about the same price as normal Diesel, but I'd probably be putting Premium Diesel in one...

what am I supposed to do for 8 hours?

It's a manual too. Even though Audi quote the 40/41 MPG, I never thought it would be in anyway achievable, but looks like I was wrong! I used to think the performance/economy combination of the 3.0 TDIs (like in the A4 and A5) was stellar, but the S3 does the same quoted MPG with a bunch more...

what am I supposed to do for 8 hours?

Quick update; I emailed the dealer yesterday to have a little moan about the lack of euro-plates (thanks for pointing that out Pilot) and he emailed back in the afternoon to say he's had them made up already and I can pop in to get them fitted any time :) Also, for my sins, I drove to Slough...

what am I supposed to do for 8 hours?

Although I'd seen one in a showroom, and heard a lot about how it looks different in different light conditions, it really doesn't prepare you for how cracking it looks; whether it be in the car park under artificial light, in dull conditions, or bright sunshine; the way it takes on different...

what am I supposed to do for 8 hours?

hmm yea, I hadn't noticed tbh, but you're right, it's a bit annoying they didn't fit the euro-style ones; I didn't even think cars came without them these days! Seeing as I'm planning on driving to Germany in a couple of weeks, I'd rather not be sticking GB stickers on it!
