Just wondered it anyone on here bought my old car?
Sold it in Jan 2015 to a dealer up north and it was still for sale, albeit it at a different dealers 6 months later. It now seems to have dropped off Autotrader so I'm guessing someone finally bought it.
No idea why it took so long to sell, it...
My now replaced, 2011 S3, used to use around 400ml per 1k miles. (I think it creeped up from 300ml in the 10k miles I owned it)
I found it rather worrying that it used quite so much, but not as bad as my S4 which used to drink a litre every 1k miles.
Peice of cake to fit. Just pop the cover off near the handbrake and put your fingers under that trim to pop out the cigarette lighter from the clips on the inside.
Swap wiring plug from that socket to the new socket, all done.
5 mins at the most.
Cant help with part number, I just sold my car...
To be fair charlie23, 2 of the faults aren't really build quality issue.
Battery lasting 8 years isn't too bad.
Tyre wearing badly is probably just poor alignment.
In regards the door locks, yep, that's a grind, but any older car is always likely to throw up a few issues.
I was looking at...
Only if pulling out of a 90 degree right hand junction.
When I say lots, I mean more wheelspin than normal (normal is almost zero, as they do distribute the power pretty efficiently and only really scrabble for traction)
I'm having thoughts of a Discovery 4.
I find the S3 is constantly pushing me to drive faster than what I should. I always seem to be at the back of traffic which encourages me to overtake.
The car is plenty fast enough and a great all rounder.
My pace needs to be slowed down, i think a wafty...
Had my S3 since Jan.
Had a B6 S4 for 7 years previous, loved it.
The S3 is faster, handles better, and does 30% better MPG. A great all rounder.
But I do miss the sound of that V8.
This last week I've thought of RS3 used at £30k, an S4 V6T used at £24k and a real oddball choice of a BMW...
I just got one from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-titanium-grey-L8AU-paint-Touch-up-brush-scratch-chip-Repair-Pen-/300922168209?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:GB:3160
It would seem the paint has flaked off the towing eye cover on my rear valance.
It might be over exuberance with the pressure washer, but either way, it looks a little messy.
Anyone know what the colour code is please? The car is black, but looking on the forum, all the rear valances are...
Great write up. Thank you.
Just did mine this evening. Couldn't get the air con unit out, but it doesn't have the credit card/coin holder like in the guide.
I just used an extension bar to get at the back bolts, no bother.
The parts I used are here:

In the same position myself.
Car is 3 and half years old with 58k miles on it. (S3 8P)
Just called Norwich Audi and they tell me its definitely 5 years and 75k miles.
I'm not totally convinced but with the water pump replacement, they offer a fixed price of £549.
I'm happy to have it done but...
