Hi guys,
A bit of history; 100k 2.0TFSI engine, never caused me any issues (except the odd blocked pickup pipe). I spotted an oil leak near cover to the right of the HPFP (pics attached). Timing chain was replaced 20k miles ago due to a horrid rattle on that side of the engine. That rattle is...
So, the track rod ends are fine and there's been no recent adjustment or attempts to adjust based on the patina of the nuts and rods ... so they must have bailed on the rears.
Hi guys,
I took my car for an alignment after noticing uneven tyre wear, and they spent ages with the car saying "We couldn't adjust the alignment. The adjuster just kept turning and turning"
I didn't think to enquire at the time, but i'm booking my car in for some TLC during its next service...
I've had mine "drag" out of gear when disengaging the clutch for a while, usually at lower revs. Adjusted driving style, probably should get it looked at hah.
Cheers, i'll have a proper look again tomorrow for any obvious signs of water or lack of sealage. I remember a while ago double checking some work done at a dodgy MOT place and finding the rear flap things ajar. Either way, the short is being caught and the bulbs seem to be OK.
I sort of hoped...
The DRL stays on, seems to be just the Xenon. It feels water related given the rain thing and the bumps/acceleration triggering the short. Are they disassemble-able to try and dry them out? I have no idea
Yeah they both are doing the same thing with the same frequency so not sure i'd gain ... i'd have to acquire some ballasts that were known good I suppose. The connector might be corroded though?
Hi All,
Just got the car back from an MOT and service with vag technik in Manchester (Who were amazing!) clean bill of health except for a headlight problem that has been doing my head in for a while...
Under hard acceleration or going over a bump, one or the other headlight will cut out and...
Considering I saw many twists and solders when I had a peek at what they were doing I think they made up a harness. No idea if that's a good or a bad thing but might explain it?
Ok, well update: Took it to a place in Manchester that seemed to have good reviews online. It has static/noise coming from the speakers that increases with revs and anything electrical you use (like indicators)...
Not impressed. They also said they had to split a wire from the loom (after...
Thanks for the info! I'm beginning to think it might just be simpler to get a car audio place to fit it for me :) Seems like a pain in the **** unit / car combo
That'd be great, I really want to use this head unit as it is one of the few with Android car support! :) If I get it working i'll write up a new review for us.
OK, here's the pics. I have a connector to my R+L audio to a plastic dual socket, then something connected to the car socket that connects to that double socket. Plus a blue and white wire, some red wire and some random gray wires. See the pictures, I have no idea what i'm looking at past what...
