    a4 170bhp some body help

If the DMF is knackered, then yes that will cause a judder. Start the car and just sit in it with it idling. If it is juddering and then levelling out a bit, then juddering again and basically going on like that, then its likely the DMF is worn. Also, whilst the car is juddering/vibrating, dip...

    Calling all retro-fitters...

was trawling the bay of E earlier, and saw these; Audi A4 S4 B8 8K + A5 Xenon headlights adapter cable set, suitable for Bi Xenon | eBay So, Nigel, Jonny et al, is this REALLY just a case of buying a set of Bi-xenons, whacking in these adaptors and then a bit of coding? Sounds a bit TOO simple...

Hope this wasnt anybody on here. B7 on the m4! shocked

Completely bonkers. My car is cleared totally before i go anywhere. He should be banned. As an ex copper, I would have locked him up straight away for dangerous driving. He more than likely was actually although it doesn't say so on the story.

    Gearbox

I've just done mine (well gearbox as well as 5th gear synchro went bang:ohmy:). I am in the trade and got my DMF and clutch for £420 all in (both Sachs). The gearbox is a piece of cake to take out. The only pain in the bare lock is when you put it back together, getting the bl66dy hydraulic hose...

    2006 1.9tdi Gearbox trouble

Had a search on the forum but can't find this specific problem. Car has been fine, driving home today up the A1 was in 5th doing about 65/70, when all of a sudden a metallic rattling and crunching noise started and it jumped out of 5th, tried to put it back in but the noise was awful. Went to...

    Calling all 2.0tdi quattro owners!

Going to have a look at a 2.0tdi 170 quattro tomorrow. Just wondering what peeps mpg's are like. My 1.9 is a bit thirsty to be honest but I'd be happy with the same mpg from the 2.0 for the extra hoof (and to get a car with a 6th gear again :-) ). Since getting the caravan, the outfit match...

    uneven idle

When you say uneven idle, do you mean the engine doesn't tick over smoothly or there is a bit of a vibration that sort of comes and goes? Reason I ask is if its the latter, you may be in the early stages of DMF failure. If its vibrating slightly at idle, try dipping the clutch as its in mid...

Battery cover or not? Do you have one running along the back of your engine bay?

Mine didn't have one, but one of our cars (B7 Cab) came in after being written off in a rear ender, and it had one, so now my car has one :)
