Hid kit query

Hi all, Fitting some hid's headlights here and i want to know if i need to use a relay or not? I know on the A3 not using a realy causes problems with the canbus system which eventually causes the wiper motor to fail.

Problem is ive got canbus cancelling ballasts, if fitted directly all is well, but when i fit the relay kit it bypasses the cancelling buisness and causes the warning light to come on.

Anybody had them fitted directly for any lenght of time with no problems?

I've had mine almost three years without any problems. Occasionally some people have had them throw up bulb out/or ABS warnings, but generally most people seem to be ok.
