S4 Transmission howl

Hi all, first post on a-s.net. My money pit has started to howl slightly under load. going up hill in a slightly higher gear then usual u'll get a deep cyclic howl. I'm guessing its transmission, but i wondered if anyone else had had this problem.
I'm guessing its final drive bearings but could it be clutch or prop shaft related?

Check the gearbox oil level asap. If it is low it will kill your gearbox very quickly.

far more likely to be a wheel bearing somewhere.
