8.5J tyre width?

Looks like I may have to go down the genuine BBS CH route as im after the CH 002 but can only get CH 003 in reps Anyone know any different?

As the genuine ones are 8.5J what width tyre should i be getting if I want the equivilent of 215/40 on 8J wheels so they have a slight stretch?

as for tyres 225/40's should do the equivilent but will be more of a tapper then a stretch

I've got ch reps in 8x18's. I'm running 215/40 tyres which have a teeny stretch.

Quick pic I took this morning for something else, and remembered this thread:

215/40 on an 8J rim, ET25.

I imagine a 225 on an 8.5J would look similar, or 215 for a fair bit of stretch

215 on an 8.5 is a little stretch, nothing major, depend what your looking for...

215 is a stretch to allow you togo lower and not encounter rubbage.

225 ia barely any stretch an will be better for handling

Saying that though, i have 225 on a 10j which is serious stretch and they handle fine.
