By the look's of it your turbo bearings/seals are worn and passing oil. Take the intake pipe of your turbo and check for end float/up and down play in the shaft and that should give some indication to what is wrong. It maybe that your turbo needs replacing/rebuilding. Hope everything works out.

im pretty sure the pipes have oil in them anyway?

Looks a common sight to me on the TDI's. Personally dont think nothings wrong.

Good to see we have a medic on the forum :) some of the things people do here could give me a heart attack !!

I would say that was worse than normal.
My car blew its turbo on wed nite and my pipes are like that so would say your turbo is on its way out!!
Just my opinion tho..

its normal to have a little oil in the pipes but if its excesive then i would get it checked out just for peace of mind

Its the oil passed from the breather pipe on top of the engine, all of them do this, you could fit a catch can to help eliminate this issue.

It can be sign of worn seals but dont panic just yet, anyother signs of turbo wear like limp modes, power on/off, high pitched whistle?
