Angel tuning remap group buy (very cheap)

Alright people, for those of you who dont know I have organised a group buy for engine remapping with Angel Tuning, normal price for a map is £300 on pre 2009 cars.

I have agreed a price of £150 per car with them if i can get 10 people.

I have 6 already and the sign up list is on the link below.
A central location will be chosen before deposits are taken so people have chance to back out then if they cant make it.

If you want to turn up but not have your engine mapped then please feel free, lets make a mini meet out of it and brighten up an otherwise dull weekend.

I dont have a location yet? im thinking maybe somewhere around Leicster as its pretty central between Leeds & London which seems to be where most people are from.

Whats involved exactly ? Will they test the cars via rolling road etc, and perform diagnostics prior to mapping ?

Im very keen, but no sure if service could be compromised due to the number of maps needed to be performed on the day ...

Basically I think they will map your car with a pre prepared map, this can be adjusted to suit your mods.

Rolling roads are not needed for all maps, I knew a tuner when i owned a Scooby and he tuned 600 & 700bhp scoobies all the time on the road, I cant argue that its easier to do with a rolling road but whats more important, a rolling road print out or real world driving and feel?

they said they could do up to 30 cars in a day so i assume this means they would send out multiple tuners.

were only gonna end up with 10 - 15 cars to do so it might be a long day but a good one and who can argue at that price? even a generic chip is more expensive than that and you have to do all the work yourself.

It all sounds good tbh - Im based in Cardiff, so pending on the final location, its very doable...

Im having my A4 serviced 2morow, and the specialists are now offering Remaps / tuning etc, so I'll have a chat with them 1st and will see what options I have

They have offered me a discounted rate as Im already having my service done with them, but as you mentioned, its likely to be at least £250 upwards...

I was reading thru Angel Tunings website and noticed this :

Group Purchase / Mapping Meet Discounts

Angel Tuning can offer their remapping at a discount either for a group of owners at a location of their choice on a certain day or alternatively, if you wish to take advantage of a "Group Purchase" we can do a group of owners at any of our locations as expected but we can also do it mobile to their home or workplace for a small additional outlay to the individual.

The former works as you would expect, you book in a certain amount of cars and our technicians will come to the location on the day and do the cars. This is often how it is done for car clubs, as they want to meet up, have a chat etc. This can also be held at one of our centres if required in Plymouth, Leeds, Basingstoke, Tunbridge Wells, Basildon, Cardiff or Troon (Scotland).

The latter works in a similar way, a bulk purchase of tuning is bought from us with a deposit for each car. A letter of discount authorisation is then sent to the individual and they can then either book the car into a centre local to them, or have one of our technicians come out.

Basically, if it means we can agree a set number of people and pay a deposit, then we can have the remaps done at a location thats near to each individual.
So we dont all have to travel too far to get it done.

IF this is the case, then Im sure I have a few friends and clients who would happily take up the offer

The deal they offered me was £150 for 10+ cars at a venue arange by me but this does seem like a much better idea as i also have 7 people from work who want this doing but wont travel to Milton Keynes.

Unfortunately the group discount normally goes down to £175 for 10+ cars which is why i think were getting it at £150 so they can have 1 guy come out to one location.

Let me contact angel Tuning tomorrow morning and discuss our options and i will update on here ASAP.

I have emailed my guy there so hopefully should have an answer by tomorrow, the idea was to get it done and meet people but i understand that was very ambitious, thats why im prepared to travel so far.

I will see what they say and ask people what they think.

Right guys below is the email i got back from Angel tuning this morning.

"Hi Chris

We can do a group buy of 20 cars, and go to each of owners locations for £195 all in each, a saving of £80 in most cases.
OR
We can do 3 cars in one location at £175 each
OR
We can do 10+ cars in one location at £150 each as previously agreed

Normally for 2 cars its £400, 3 is £540 etc - this can be done becuase of the reduction in travel and time travelling.


We couldnt do multiple locations, plus travel at £150, it just doesnt work for us as we lose too much money on each one. Bascially we charge £275 for each booking slot including travel, for every car we do at the deal price, we would lose £125 revenue if we did it at £150. The group days work as we have one lot of travel and a dedicated technician or two to the task.

I suppose we could do 3 cars at each location for £175 but thats up to you guys, the problem with that is not making a day of it with a meet aswell but if your not bothered about that then theres no point.

mmm for a 190 A4 it only seems to be 20bhp extra and 30 extra on the torque side.

Revo are 35bhp extra and 68 extra Nm (i presume the 30 on angel tuning is lb feet which equals 41Nm)

but then its a lot cheaper.. choices choices!
