Car wont lock, and windows go down

hello,

I have a 1.6 audi a3 1997! and everytime i go to lock the car and pull the key out of the lock, the whole car unlocks and the windows go down! if you hold the key in the lock postion it will stayed locked, but as soon as you pull the key out it unlocks and the windows start messing about!

any help will be great!

Almost sounds like the unlock button is stuck down on the key fob as if you hold the button down it unlocks the car and winds the windows down.

there is no button on the key to press! but there is two keys, one for the ignition barrel and one for the locks so i reckon the ignition barrel has been changed before! might have something to do with it!

sounds like a microswitch in the lock is sticking, try giving the lock a good squirt of lube...
