I've got to replace the drivers heated mirror. But before I go in headlong and rip the mirror off, does it just prise off or do I need any tools?

I don't want to go in with my fists of ham and break the entire mirror.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

If you just want to mock my ineptness then feel free to do that too. :ermm:

TIA,

Alan

Point the mirror as far down at the floor as it will go, or as far up in the air, and get your fingertips behind the glass. Then gently but firmly prise the glass out, it's quite difficult and requires a firm hand, but it's ok.

And doing that I won't break the glass will I?

No anywhere other than Audi to get good heated mirrors?

Be careful and you won't break it. I've done it that way several times, if you're really nervous you can take the mirror cap off, but you're more likely to break the cap without removing the glass, than the glass without removing the caps if that makes sense.

I can only think of the normal places, TPS etc.

Just use lots of fingers mainly in the centre at the top and pull, take 2 mins to swap the glass, did mine last week.

Search here, there are loads of threats on replacing the mirror glass.

I got 2 genune ones on EBay, £20 delivered the pair.
