how do u get to and remove engine ecu as im thinking of removing it for testing

Remove front wiper arms, remove the long rubber seal across the engine bay. remove the plastic tray underneath. Theres the ecu right underneath in the metal cover. You need to heat the shear bolts up and unscrew them by using some damn good mole grips or as i use, a chisel and hammer. Hope this helps;

Also when you remove the plastic tray you need to remove the washer jet pipes. When refitting these make sure you put these back on correctly or they will leak onto the ecu and you will be in sh*t street, like myself XD

OK THANKS any body every had faulty ecu ??

Yes, mine is on its way out, i recon there is a crack in my ecu circuit board.

why do you think its on way out

Intermittently the dashboard will light up and i will have brake, abs , powersteering, esp ,glowplug, airbag, oik pressure etc etc FAILURE coming up. When i remove the ecu and clean it fixes it for a short while, but i think it is the ecu and not wiring related.. Whats the problem with yours, as i am going to get mine sent off and tested.
