I have a 2005 Audi A3 1.9 TDI. My brakes are working fine in general but i've noticed over the last few weeks if i'm going 40 MPH+ and go to use the brake it shutters and can sometimes struggle to stop. Could this be a problem with the brake pads or something more?

Thanks in advance.

If you mean a vibration when you brake,it's most likely to be the discs have warped and will need replacement.

Either way you need to get it looked at immediately.

or do they go heavy/wooden feeling, like they would feel with then engine not running? It could be a loss of vaccum pressure in this case. Either way as Alex says, get them checked immediately.
