Chain Tensioner Price??

Well after running in my new engine for last 900 mile, it developed a funny noise few days ago..

If i revved the car on spot it was fine but as soon as i pulled off i got a weird noise from top end.. Popped it back to Lincoln VW spec and seems the Chain tensioner has got up swanny..


Just wondered what sort of money is a new one is???

VVT ones are 300+ from a dealer.... non VVT around the 100 mark...

hi mate, may i ask what sort of noise you are experiencing? i have a similar problem

...the infamous rattle!!! mine still does it despite changing the head and the followers... still think its made worse by the stiffer supertech springs on idle tbh but I will be replacing mine in due course as its the only thing thats left!!!

Mine was £120 from Audi for a non vvt

I have the vvt it was £350+vat from Audi

I paid not far off £700 for a new one+ fitting from an Audi specialist, I had a slight rattle on start up only slight though, and went after 1-2 seconds, and was told this is normal?, the reason I changed it because of a fault code That came up, and told I needed to replace this part?
