Non air con

Might sound a daft question but how do you get fresh air through the vents without turning the air con on?

you get out side air so its fresh to a point but its not clean like with the aircon on

my aircon dont work so i just have it on outside air but if i did have working aircon id use that if stuck in trafic rather than breath in the nasty old fumes

If you want normal (non conditioned) air then press ECON so it's illuminated.

ECON light ON = Aircon (compressor) OFF.

whilst we are on the subject is true that if you have a low gas level and you turn the aircon on it turns itself off ie light will not stay off

yes plug it into vagcom it can be a numurous of faults some expensive some not wont know till we have the fault code

Yes, the system will force the ECON light to stay ON to prevent the aircon system from damaging itself.

ho well my light does stay off so it must be something else . one other thing i swopped the control unit because the original one had scratched buttons is it right the new control unit needs programing to the car by the way my aircon stopped working before the swop . i was just driving down the motorway one minute it worked fine the next minute it was blowing warmer air
