Triple figures did a superman and broke my collar bone. Travelled a fair distance from the bike. Luckily I didn't hit anything just slid so still here to talk about it. Bike was an insurance write off. Got the pay out and bought another identical if not quite as clean up in London. I've not put a lot of miles on this one. Weekend sunny day toy. Crash didn't slow me down, not learnt my lesson. I didn't die so all good. Only did 85 miles last year between MOTs. That's mainly down to getting a pacemaker fitted, but that's another story. That's not ideal chap, bike looks wrecked what about yourself....did you walk away or a trip in the flashing lights.
There is allways a limit on bikes , what it takes to cross that line really does depend on so many factors....looks like you crossed it big time on that occasion.
hope you got over it ok.

Two types of bikers mate, those who have crashed and those who are going to. I have had 2 x tumbles and resulted in broken back (twice), broken ankle, broken hand, broken ribs but all fixed. Does it stop you riding/wanting a bike, definitely not. Glad your ok buddy but I'm sure you'll agree, no car can compare to a fast bike.Triple figures did a superman and broke my collar bone. That's a hell of a long claim time. I've had three bike accidents now. First one was on my old 5jj R1 again ran out of talent. I bounced well, so no lasting physical injuries just pride. Second one was an old boy facing me with a roadside car park to his right. As I approached him, I was thinking to myself he's going to move and low and behold yep. Turn over my path. Luckily I was only doing 25. Witnessed by the cars behind me and several pedestrians. Locked up the front up came the back end front tucked. And I ended up at the front of his car. Got up and looked in the window to see two old boss like rabbits in headlights. Was with MCE insurance and still am. Got a pay out and the bike fixed no problem within a couple of months. A lot of people slate MCE, But I've had nothing but top service from them for a number of years. With a premium of £132 fully comp on a gixxer 1000 K5 with my history. I can't complain. My first experience of Audi's was in 1985 which was very up close and personal...lol
A guy driving an audi 80 pulled out if front of me then decided to stop dead on a wet road.....needless to say a CB900 moving at 50mph on a wet road wont stop that quick, and it didn't and I just had nowhere to go except straight into the back of the audi, and it hurt big time.
Bike just stuck in the boot of the audi and I went right over the whole car, ouch frankly, I walked away from it in the true sense of the word as I had to walk home, PC plod arrived too late but gave me a lift the rest of the way home.
Still had to work the next day aswell as self employed but I really was not in a good condition and still suffer from leg problems all these years later, anyway like I say , it goes with the territory really, it took me nearly 5 years to get the claim against him sorted out .
One day i will find one of these gems, and it will be mine , oh yes indeedy......well wheni've sold my soul , all body parts , the house etc..lol.

If you have another half sell them first lol.
Drop a bored out bandit engine into it. Is the frame the same as the 1100 slingshot.
Vey nice 748 there chap, nice too see another duke owner on the forum.
I used to have a yellow 748sps , great bike but even better with the 853 conversion.
That's gorgeous Rob... Is that a magnesium swing arm? Looks cool

It is indeed, sand cast mag , and so light aswell…
as are the fork triple clamps.
Go the whole hog. 125bhp can be had without overboring and a good tune/exhaust. 150bhp and more with the over bore and the power band is still so broad and smooth. It would look stock too. If the frame could take it and was the same as the 1100 frame then it would be a cracker.Would probably go straight in alright.. I'm going to try keep it with the original engine if possible as it seems to run well.

Hello all. Ducati Monster 821 Dark here. All black. My first and only bike and have no plans on changing it unless I got a Diavel which is not on my short list of things to get right now.

Mines looking a bit sorry for itself at the moment. It’s getting:
New brake hoses
All callipers rebuilt with new pistons and seals
Both master cylinders rebuilt
Some new slider pins
New discs and pads
All the old CBS stuff has been removed and brakes de-linked
Back on the road for Sunday I’m hoping. Original callipers and disks have done 149k in 22 years so they’ve not done badly.
A bit of spit and polish works wonders ….well maybe a tad more polish ...
