I think the gloss looks good on the 3 door but it's a bit poorly thought out on the sportback. The fact there's a big matt rubbery bit for the windows either side of the pillar, and the rear triangle has another big rubbery strip running up behind it makes it look a bit like an after thought (probably because it is an after thought).
If the 5 door is the same as the 3 door then you need to drill out the rivets that hold them in place and then put new rivets in with a rivet gun to attach the new ones.
Rivets are located behind the door seal - pull it back and you'll see them.
unfortunately mate the thread is for the 3 door model, I have the sportback, by the looks of things there different as at the bottom of the pillar trim when both doors are open I think theres some sort of weather strip over im assuming where the rivits are. Im not going to play about yet as I haven't sourced the both glossy black exterior trims yet, but defo going to do it, think it looks a lot more attractive. theres a triangle bit aswell on both rear door corners of the windows and im assuming il have to get gloss black replacements aswell for them. thanks for the help bud
