gonna give this a bash at the weekend!

can someone tell me if the headlights will need re-aligning after doing this?
also how is it done?

many thanks.

Headlight wont need realignment as long as you dont adjust anything. The xenons auto level also.

I've been reading into it for my dads passat and is as easy as a normal bulb. Unclip and twist. Make sure you dont touch the new bulb part from the plastic part, the bulb is flush into the headlight and in the correct place and make sure the connect is on tightly.

One last thing, I would recommend replacing both at the same time as they can be slightly different colours if one is old and one is new depending if the bulb has stopped working or gone a horrid pinkish colour.

the only issue you will have with replacing the bulb is actually getting to it as there is almost no room to access the bulb holder
there are 2 tried and tested ways that work.

1. remove front bumper and headlights and refit the bulbs

2. remove front wheel arch liner and reach in and change the bulbs that way.

obviously 2 is quicker but not necessarily easier

Arch liner is your best & easiest option imho, as you can turn wheel at an angle, then remove a few screws, hold the liner back & reach into back of light, but do it with a good torch :)
