wheel bearings

might be a silly question but how many miles does a wheel bearing last before it needs changing ?

ive got a whine from some where so may be bearings

There's no set period as it depends on allot of variables, roads used, wheels, size, tyres, mods to the car, allot of things can affect the lifetime, but bearings are a known issue on the 8P, so can be anytime tbh.

My mate is on 80000 and the bearings have just started to go, one of the most irratating sounds ever!
