3rd gear up and downshift crunch.

Looked at buying a 1.9 pd130 Quattro sport today, swift highish rpm 2nd gear to 3rd and 4th to 3rd occasionally caused a crunch.

Abnormally slow deliberate shifts are ok.

Walk away, synchromesh ?

i had my gearbox oil changed and havent noticed it since, although i havent driven it that hard since either.

I have a 'dogbone' bush waiting to go on also as it could be a tired gearbox mount bush that means the gearbox moves around too much when driving it hard and changing gear making it crunch... but then again it could be synchro.

How many miles are on it?

Someone posted a video on this forum a few days ago if i remember correctly about resetting the gears or something along those lines, was quite easy ; may be relevant

Another day, another Quattro, except this one has the 1st signs of clutch slip with spirited driving.

Aaaaaggghhhhhh, am I ever gonna find a good one !
