Its just something I read about gear knobs and how they effect you throw (I think thats the right word) when changing gear.
People fit short shift kits for what the name does but if you fit a normal gear knob or something universal, you end up having a negative effect, albeit small one, on what you're trying to do with the short shift kit.
But if you get a gear knob (like the ones I posted) that are designed to sit at low on the gear stick as possible, they will help the short shift kit by lowering the shift even more over standard knobs.
Or something like that but more techy and possible made more sense.
I've got a Votex Accessory gear knob in my car, its wood but is painted in a dark grey carbon fibre-effect pattern and was formerly fitted to my 80 Avant , think I paid a fiver for it at a show around the year 2000, it's still as-new.
It doesn't really go with the walnut trim and leather interior of my A4 but its so nice to use I don't care, I think the stock knob is really uncomfortable to hold/use.........
WOW.
that is expensive.
I know the guy who makes the knobs in the pic at the top.
I'm trying to see if he will make them for Audis.
They should be cheaper.
