throttle valve adaptor fault

Noticed a loss of 'kick' when accelerating on my car, checked on the diagnostics and i was getting nil voltage from the charge air flow flap - spoke to my friend at audi and he says this is a throttle valve adapter, common fault on these cars and he has one on the shelf... 345+vat!!!

what do you guys think? ever heard of this?
