3.0 tdi Injector Problem

Toying with the idea of buying a second hand A6 3.0tdi, was there a certain year of manufacture where the injector problem was perceived as being resolved?

My car an A6 Avant 3.0 TDi Quattro 55 plate 2005 had 70k on clock when bought it in Aug11 now 77k@time of post... it has chain rattle which is a early model issue... a £2k fix@indi garage... as engine+transmission removed to get at chains at rear of engine if you want to get all done... some people advise you can get done one top tensioner which follows Audi TPI 2012744/6...

Before I decided to get work done I tried to investigate the state of my car i) visually ii) with VCDS MVB's to see if car warrant keeping and work done to it or just p/x or sell and get another...

If budget allow I would go as close as 09 onwards as they have most if not all production issues cured by that time from things I've read and studied... plus facelifted and you may end up with MMI 3G HDD vs MMI 2G variant on a pre facelift..

059 130 277 AB DROPPED 01/09/2006
059 130 277 AH DROPPED 01/04/2009
059 130 277 BD Current part since 09 (these apply to BMK BNG ASB engine codes)

I have no issues with my injectors been i) advised on another forum which I frequent ii) the garage which doing work for chain tensioner have also come to this conclusion...

as an owner this is all the advise I can give... but again each car used or new can have it's very own different issues...
so by all means only use my experience as info not the norm...
