Iv been trying to get my 8p s3 remapped, as it turns out the ecu has been locked out by another tuning company, I'm assuming its had a trial on it as iv logged the boost settings and they seem to match the standard maps figures. Can anybody give me any suggestions? Who are the main companies who offer trials? Is it something they can fix for me if I somehow find out who it is? Or would it just be a simple case of buying a new ecu to replace the locked unit?

Hope that makes sense

Cheers

You'll need to get a loan to replace it or I think an Audi dealer can reflash it for you.

Is it definatley possible to be done at a dealers? Our local one that I rang said it would have to go back to whoever did the remap, but they're not exactly the most reliable dealers in the world!

You dont wanna be going down the ECU route.....tres expensive. I've just had to recover a customers cars (A4 Avant) which had very similar after a tuner tried to remap it. His ECU went into hibernation and couldn't be woken up. The ECU was even taken down to London to software specialist and the result came back as one completely dead ECU. Ordered one one straight from TPS in Germany where Audi get theres from...........Price = £800. You then have to load the map on and then go online and download immobiliser codes for it to work. So total price for it is well over £1200.

Contact all the big firms first maybe the ones local to where the car was before you.
