Aluminium interior trim ??

Basically im just wondering how does the aluminium interior trim come off the doors and dash thinking of getting it wrapped have seen some pics over on vwvortex and thinking of doing the same to match my colour scheme.

Heres the pics thoughts and opinions welcome.

Black rings or red ??????

Any one good with photoshop who wouldnt mind doing a few mock ups on this

If it's the same as the B6 then the door strips just literally pull off from the front and the dash strip is bolted on.

Carbon wrapped mine. It's a total pig of a job. You have to remove the door cards and then remove the metal fasteners before the trim can be pulled free from the doors. short dash trim is easy enough to remove as you remove the panel under the steering column pop the metal clips and it's off. Long strip is a pain as you need to remove the glovebox and centre console to get at the metal spring clp retainers.

you can do the big one without removing the console, just need to cheat a bit with the middle clip

I'd suggest that you use black rings, because you can buy them in gloss black plastic. Painting them simply wont last, it chips up and goes **** really quickly. Vinyl wrap the outer though, so you can do that any color!

I was thinking black rings and getting the outer done in vinyl or send it to paint shop round the corner from work to paint both pieces up he may do it for nowt as me and the lads are always giving them work from passers by etc.
