Hi there people.

In the next 2 - 3000 miles I will be in the window for a cam belt change on my car and I just have a few questions to see if you guys can help.

My car is a 2005 2.0 TDI

1 - Can anybody recommend a garage in the midlands area who can do this job who are reasonable?

2 - Roughly how much does it cost to get this job done ( average price )?

3 - How long does it usually take?

Sorry if these questions have been asked before

Cheers

Bailey

I use Midland VW in Cannock, they are well recommended by a few people on this forum.

It cost about £300 - 340 I think (to do the water pump belt as well) on an S3.

Sorry if its a bit vague, but I had an annual service done at the same time which I think all in came to £440.

I could be wrong, but that figure sticks in my head!

it took the day, I dropped it off at 8:30 and it was done by 2pm.

Yea mate as that's about right between £300-350 Like said above you want to do the water pump aswell as its right there and will save you the labour if the water pump ever goes as they have to strip front end on an a3/s3 to do Cambelt/ water pump

Cheers guys, I will get in touch with them this week to see what they say.

Thanks again

Bailey

Just spoken to Midland VW and I was quoted for Cam Belt, Water Pump and Tensioner £270 inc VAT so thats not bad at all. So I have got it booked in for the 1st September

Thanks for the help guys
