I'm fuming, Got back to my car today and this is what I found, no details left, nobody around, no CCTV in the car park...

Really grinds my ******* gears!!!!

I guess I have no choice but to pay for the repair myself? Does anybody know the best place to get the wings for an S3, are they Alu or steel?

Bummer mate, it's a self fix in this scenario, maybe see if you can get the dent pushed out by a specialist? That would probably be the cheapest option for a fix, then polish the panel up.

Yep, very annoying Jo. I might see if it can be pulled out, I really didn't want to have to have a panel re-sprayed but I guess it's un-avoidable if the dent can't be pulled back out. I'll have to check with somebody that knows.

What would be ideal is somebody breaking a car in this colour!

That wont pull out without paint mate....

There are some nice people around hey....

I was waiting in a local supermarket while my mrs nipped in...(my *** nipped in.... was sat for 50 mins..) and the amount of dings i saw happening was unreal 80% young women and a trolley smashed into a car ...i was ****** shocked!!

Aww damn, sorry about that hope it gets repaired well :)

bad times!
as it happens i was coming out from asda last week and there was a woman standing on the phone crying, and when i looked at her car, a 12 plate astra, her full back bumper was hanging off and only held on by a couple of wires!
somebody had pulled a stunt and drove off! and totally wrecked a brand new car!
there are some lovely people about!

That really sucks, I hope you get it sorted out without too much wallet damage.

I know its good to reflect in hindsight, but if you had a Blackvue fitted you may well have recorded who did it. Its the main reason I had mine fitted.

I think I'll just wait until I find a car being broken in the right colour, luckily silver being a pretty common colour. I'll stick a wanted ad up etc, I think it's the easiest way if doing it and avoids getting it painted.

Am I right in thinking these wings just bolt on and off fairly easy?

Sorry to hear it mate; a byproduct of ridiculous insurance premiums and a lack of any decency remaining in the downtrodden British public. The way I see many cars driven these days I'm hardly surprised by anything like this, people seem to concentrate on anything other than driving. Hope you find a wing soon.

same happened to me in asda a while back with my silver a3 non turbo, towbar hole in my rear bumper and no details left, some ppl just dont care, hope its sorted soon m8

That really is a very simple repair job to be honest. problem being with silver if it breaks out into needing some filler (it will) chances are you will end up having to blend the colour into the door with it being so close to the door edge

you will be lucky to find a wing and it be exactly the same shade of silver, these are oldish cars now, most will have seen some paint by now and there are many variants on the basic silver.

Depends how fussy you are. its basicly the cost of second hand wing and possibly paint and blend versus small repair and blend.

Gutted, I feel for you. I had a similar situation. Somebody drove into my car whilst I was parked (luckily I was in it at the time) but while it was in for repair, someone else drove into the side of the brand new courtesy car whilst it was parked in a parent parking space at the local leisure centre. F@&&ers didn't leave anything so I had to cough up £250. It needed a new rear door and repairs to the wing.

Sorry to see this beanoir..... that would proper do my swede in. A few years ago i was at work and some nice chappy vandilised my car kicked the door in and keyed it a bit different but very gutting. I hope you get it sorted buddy :(
