Strange noise ....any ideas!!!!!!

So driveing on the M1 last night and had a noise from the inside of the car which sounded like a mobile phone through a handsfree kit trying to contect????? Or that type of sound,not like any warning sound I have heard before.radio was off and the traffic alert mode also switced off.
A very short sound lasting for no more than 2 seconds at a time and must of happened about 10 to 15 times with no pattern so very random and seemed to be coming from the passanger footwell area?.
But here is the strange part joined the M25 and the noise / bleep stopped , carried on till jct 8.
On the return journey back to jct 13 M1 .... Nothing !!!!!!!!
So could put this down to a 1 off..... Any ideas please.

Mine has always done this with TP enabled. I think it's when it can't get a signal. Makes a big beep. Enough to make me jump sometimes if the music is loud.

Well at least I wasn't going mad....but very strange and yes it is a loud bleep but not any warning bleep.
I'll put the TP back on and see if it happens again,
