Hi all!
Had my s3 for a couple of years and have a couple of issues.
Knock 1
When I turn the wheel in no particular direction, at low speed you sometimes get a light knock just the once which you feel slightly through the steering wheel. Nticable when parking. Audi replaced the steering rack under warranty, greased top of the spring seats and can't figure it out. Any ideas?
Knock 2.
Went through some reasoably deep flood water the other day and a couple of days later got a knock when I dropped down a gear and came off the clutch with no throttle. If I pulled away abruptly it would knock again. It would only knock once in each direction at a time, ie. drop down a gear and release the clutch - knock. Dip the clutch and do it again and no knock. Accelerate and then drop down and release the clutch and knock again. Thought it could be an engine mount but my friend at Audi suspects a dual mass fly wheel. No rumbling or vibrations though. So here's the weird part... It stopped. Hasn't come back for 4 drives now. Any ideas?
Cheers guys.
