hub nut size please

Have searched but cant get the answear,

Need to change the wishbone, went to remove the hub nut but didn have the socket.

Tried a 28, 30 and a 32 none fit? not sure of mine wernt deep enough or if its larger again?

Its a 2001 A3 1.9 TDi

Mine was a 32mm On an s3

the one on my 2001 1.6 required a 12 point 30mm socket. I used a deep socket so i could crack the nut off with the wheel still on. Not sure if you need a deep socket if you have the wheel off and someone on the brakes.

Ah right i see, its a 12sided nut. I was trying to slip a 6 sided on ut to no avail.

Thanks for that il get a few 12sided sockets.
