CD Player help

Hi guys my friend has a 2004 2.0 tdi and recently his standard unit died on him and left just the right hand side of the unit working. so payday came grabbed himself a new pioneer unit plugged all wires in and this new one wont power up.

Any ideas?

I'm assuming your friend checked all the necessary fuses and that the unit was getting power before going out to buy a new unit?

he now tells me it works on the radio on FM but wont change to AM or the CD. he says its getting power and all fuses are fine
