New B6 S4 owner saying hi.

Hi all

My names Ian and I hail from sunny Suffolk
Iv just bought my self a 2003 S4 in aluminium silver I think the colour is.
After having owned and played with impreza's over the last god knows how many years I decided I wanted to take a step up in the automotive world and get myself an Audi .
I broke and sold my pride and joy, a 558bhp wide arch 1997 Catalunya impreza that I had spent 3 years self building and began searching for an S4.
I'd already decided I preferred the B6 shape and wanted to experience a large capacity V8.
After finding a nice example me and the mrs travelled 7hrs by train to go and look at with a view to buying, the car was spot on, money changed hands and I drove it 6 1/2 hours home and fell in love with it .
I look forward to reading through the forum and feeding of you guys knowledge on all things audi.

Nice motor mate. I've also just moved up to a B6 S4 after a B5 S4 and 2001 S3. Looked long and hard for the spec I wanted and then last month a 2003 manual saloon popped up with 85k and a full audi history. Clutch recently done and serviced so I bought it and now so happy. I will never tire of that v8 burble. Happy motoring

I think my car may be down on power to be honest, now I'm defiantly not one to go racing around on public roads etc I'm 34 and my licence is my job but coming from home at the weekend I had a young lad in a mk4 golf find it necessary to sit right up my rear end goading me to put my foot down, as I joined a slip road to join the duel carriageway I did put my foot down to get the idiot of my rear end but I only ever so slightly gained any ground on him, I only accelerating to around 80mph in 3rd then lifted of and shifted to 6th and dropped to 70, I expected to pull right away from him and was disappointed I didn't, I know he may have had the mk4 fettled so shouldn't worry me too much plus as said I don't make a habit of racing around etc, just sometimes it's nice to put these "boy racers" in there place .
I'm going to get the car to my local 4wd dyno at some point and see how she is performing, Iv come from a 558bhp 459lbft impreza so I know the s4 won't feel as rapid as that but I would like to see what it's putting out.

I wouldn't worry too much mate, as you say you dont know how modded the Golf was.
Would be interesting to see your results after you dyno your S4.

welcome along fella hope youre enjoying the forum and the car. i'm just down the road from you in bury st edmunds and also have an s4 avant in the same colour and year as yours, anything you need to know get straight on here and someone will sort you out.p.s i find fourth gear is where its all happening!

The forum seems ace chap, some real good info and people from what Iv seen/read so far. Bury is only half hour up the road from me .
Do you clean/detail your own cars? I'm now kind of getting into it so may have to tap you detailing type folk for advice
