right then guys. have got a 2002 bam s3. have been experiencing a boost leak type sound for a while. have done multiple smoke tests and pressure tests and changed a number of parts. when the car comes on boost there is a whisteling sound and turbo lag,(lack of boost). any way after weeks of tests and brain storming we have done another smoke test and this time found that there is leak somewhere between the tip and the soft pipe that comes from the charge pipe to the intercooler (this is where we put a bung in to do the smoke test). the tester was sayin theres a leak but we couldnt see any smoke anywhere, even at over 12psi.now this is where it gets interesting, we then heard a noise that sounded like water dripping and after searching around, found it to be coming from inside the engine. we took the oil filler cap of and the noise was more apparent and there was a little bit of smoke. so it appears that it was bubbling up through the oil, as when we took the bung out the noise and smoke stopped.

so...... turbo seal letting air through seems the feesable option. but have any of you guys got any input?

have got no smoke from the exhaust and apart from this problem a very healthy car.

recenly done.

pickup pipe and oil change
haldex service
new maf
new puc valve
new n75

please note that the problem above was there before all the work above was carryed out. also the problem dissapeared for about 10 - 14 days and then came back again last sunday after a spirited drive

if anyone has experienced a similar problem or has any info it would be grately appreciated.
